Größere Kartenansicht the ship Eastern Comfort --in partnership with the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy (icd)-- http://​www.international-events-in​-berlin.de/ Celebrate the 4th of July this Wednesday at The Boat Party on the ship Eastern Comfort with mixing cultures and languages and live music and barbecue on the Spree. The weekly language/international party brings together people of all ages from everywhere and is known for its friendly ambience where it's easy to meet and talk with people in a variety of languages--I help with arranging language partners. Come early for that. The party starts at 7pm around my 5-star hummus. Entry is 1 euro from 7 to 8:30pm. After 8:30 entry is two euros (one euro to pay the band). ERASMUS students (with valid ID) get in free. This week from Italy it’s SPAGHETTI SWING & SAMBA with Milo Lombardi, saxophone-vocals, and Federico Ficarra, guitar, performing old style jazz standards and latin bossanovas ranging from Fats Waller to Antonio Carlos Jobim. Their concert will begin around 10pm. Last week was a quiet party, with rain and football. (71 people signed in) People found one another in little groups. Sometimes there was no common language at all, and they could only count to ten on their fingers. It was a good night to speak English, German, Persian, Chinese, Italian, French, Russian, Polish, Dutch, Czech, Turkish and Hindi on the water. Just before the bridge turn right onto Mühlenstr., and the Eastern Comfort entrance is about 100 meters down the street (Mühlenstr. 73, Berlin, 10243) near the beginning of the Eastside Gallery.
